The parts of Huntington Beach we get asked about most are Downtown and Old Town, Huntington Harbour, Seacliff, Goldenwest and Meadowlark. They are not one kind of house, and that is the part that matters for a quote.

Downtown and Old Town lots are narrow — some as tight as 25 feet wide — which pushes newer construction to two- and three-story builds with rooftop decks right next to original single-story mid-century cottages.

Huntington Harbour is a 1960s-built waterfront community of homes with private docks on man-made islands and canals, with later gated pockets like Coral Cay added on top.

Seacliff is not one housing type: it mixes an original single-family tract with later attached product, including the Club Series townhomes and the mid-1990s Cambria Collection.

Goldenwest and Meadowlark are 1960s-1970s single-story ranch and two-story tracts, with Meadowlark built around the Meadowlark Golf Course.

That is what decides the number. A long, low, street-facing roofline reads from the pavement and a Basic Roofline job can be the whole display. A tall narrow frontage, a steep pitch or a tile edge is more work for less visible line, and the entry, the garage and a wrapped tree start carrying more of it. Associations and HOAs in Huntington Beach

HOA coverage varies block by block rather than citywide — Huntington Harbour's Coral Cay and Seacliff's Club Series are verified named HOAs with dues, but the older single-family tracts (Downtown and Old Town, Goldenwest, Meadowlark, and most of original Seacliff) are not HOA-governed.

Where there is an association, it usually has something to say about seasonal lighting: the dates it may be up, the colours allowed, whether a timer is required, whether anything may attach to a shared wall or a common-area tree. We are not going to claim we know your association's rulebook by heart. Send us what yours says and the design gets built inside it. If what you want is not allowed, you hear that before you pay anything.

What a display costs in Huntington Beach

Two packages, two published bands, the same in every city we cover: $400–$800 for the Basic Roofline and $1,000–$2,500 for the Premium Full Front. Both include the lights, the timers, the roof-safe clips, the install, maintenance all season and January takedown and storage.

We do not quote by the foot, here or anywhere. Two houses with the same footage can be a completely different day's work depending on height, pitch and what the roof edge is made of. The honest way to price it is to look at what the street actually sees.

How booking works in Huntington Beach

1. Text two photos of the front of the house — one straight on, one from an angle — and say whether you want the roofline or the full front.
2. You get a real number back inside one of the bands, with what is included.
3. We install from early October to December 10. Tell us your neighbourhood when you book, along with anything your association requires.
4. Maintenance runs all season, then January takedown. If a bulb goes out before then, call and we come back out — that holds in Huntington Beach the same as it does at home in Laguna Hills.

The calendar opens in September and early-November dates go first.
