Pricing

How much does Christmas light installation cost in Orange County?

Forever Young Lighting publishes two priced packages. The Basic Roofline package starts around $400–$800 and includes C9 LED lights along the roofline, timers, a roof-safe clip system with no roof damage, professional installation, all-season maintenance, and post-holiday removal. The Premium Full Front package starts around $1,000–$2,500 and adds roofline, entry, and garage coverage, wrapped trees and bushes, pathway and railing lights, and custom colour options, with wreaths available as an add-on. Every package includes design, installation, maintenance, and removal, so homeowners do nothing but enjoy the display. Exact pricing depends on home size, the areas being lit, and design complexity. Forever Young Lighting serves Laguna Hills, Laguna Beach, Mission Viejo, Irvine, and the rest of South Orange County, and provides a free quote after a quick call or photo review.

What is the cost per foot?

This is the question we get most, and the honest answer is that we do not price by the foot. We price by package, and here is why.

A per-foot number sounds precise and usually is not. Two houses with the same 120 feet of roofline can take very different amounts of work. One is a single story with a straight run you can reach from a six-foot ladder. The other is two stories with three roof pitches, a tile edge that needs a different clip, and a stretch you can only reach off the back of the garage. Same footage, twice the day.

Per-foot pricing also hides what you are actually buying. Our price already includes the strands, the timers, the clips, the install, every repair during the season, and takedown and storage in January. A per-foot rate that quotes only "hanging" leaves all of that to be added later, which is how a cheap number turns into a surprise.

So we look at the house, we tell you what we would light, and we give you one number from one of the two bands above. That number is the number. The long version is in this guide.

What moves the price?

Five things, in roughly the order they matter.

  • How much roofline you want lit. A single-story ranch with a short front run sits near the bottom of the Basic band. A wide two-story with gables, dormers and a balcony sits near the top.
  • How many stories. Height changes the ladder work, the safety setup and the time. Three stories changes it again.
  • How much beyond the roofline. Entry, garage, wrapped trees and bushes, pathway lights and railings are what separate the two packages. Every tree you add is real time — wrapping a mature tree properly is slow work.
  • Design complexity. A single warm-white run is straightforward. Alternating colours, a custom mix, or a pattern that has to line up across two rooflines takes planning and more cutting.
  • Anything unusual about the property. A tile roof, a steep pitch, a stretch with no safe ladder footing, or power that is a long way from where the lights go.

What does not move it: the city you live in, whether you booked in September or November, and whether your neighbour got a different number. We quote the house.

What is included in the price?

Everything below is in the quoted number, not billed after.

In every package

  • Professional-grade C9 LED lights, cut to your house
  • Timers, so the display runs itself
  • Roof-safe clips — no nails, no staples, no holes
  • Installation by our own crew
  • Maintenance all season: a bulb goes out, we come back
  • Takedown in early January
  • Storage until next season

Quoted separately

You will see any add-on as its own line in the quote before you agree to anything.

Do I pay for the lights themselves?

No, and you do not own them either. The strands stay our property. We maintain them through the season, take them down, and store them, which is why there is no separate materials line on your quote and nothing in your garage in February.

It also means the lights you get are ours to keep in good shape. A strand that is looking tired gets replaced on our side, not yours.

Other questions about price

How does pricing work?

Pricing depends on the size of your home, the areas you want lit, and how complex the design is. Most single-family homes start around $400–$800 for roofline only, or $1,000–$2,500 for a full front display. We give you a free quote after a quick call or a photo review.

There is no charge for the quote and no deposit to look at your house.

Can you do commercial properties?

Yes. Most of our work is houses, but we also light small office buildings, retail storefronts, and HOA common areas. Send photos of the property and tell us what you want lit, and we put together a commercial quote.

Commercial jobs are quoted the same way as homes — by what has to be lit, not by a per-foot rate.
